A Message from the Principal… Mrs. Charise Santana

Welcome back to the 2024-25 school year! We are all excited to welcome our students back to school and meet the new families. I hope you and your family had an opportunity to spend time together by relaxing or taking a trip. This summer I worked summer school for two weeks, but was able to visit Cabos San Lucas and Las Vegas with Mr. Santana, as well as a girls trip to the spa.

This year, we will continue to focus on implementing practices that align to our District's Strategic Plan: Academic Skills + Personal Skills = Lifelong Success! There will be more information communicated to students and families throughout the school year. This year we will continue to provide instruction that is rigorous, engaging, and aligned to state standards as part of our Academic Skills Goal 1. In the area of Goal 2, Personal Skills, we will continue to operate under the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) framework , partner with Special Olympics of Southern California to focus on and support inclusive practices, and also continue with activities throughout the school year that align with being a No Place for Hate school ambassador. For Goal 3, Lifelong Success, we will support students with developing scholarly habits and establishing a college or career mindset.

In support of students' mental health, our the Panther Wellness Center will still be available to students at least three days a week, until further staffing has been placed.

Lastly, I would like to share that our wonderful Mrs. Lindy is now working her magic at another site. We will miss her dearly. Please note that we are in the process of finding another secretary, which may take a couple of month. In the meantime, I would like welcome the following new staff members:

  • Summer Hughes, Assistant Principal
  • Daylyn Walsh, K/1 Teacher
  • Linh Nguyen, 5th Teacher
  • Rachel Vergilio, 6th Teacher
  • Sandra Welch, Nurse
  • Jared Jew, Speech & Language
  • Hannah Nguyen, Speech & Language
  • Julia Ciejka, Program Supervisor

We are looking forward to seeing students and families for another great school year. Go Panthers!
